De Franse aardappeloogst van 2011 komt qua kilo’s ver boven het gemiddelde uit. Dit wijzen de laatste cijfers van proefrooiingen van onder meer de Franse telersorganisatie UNPT uit.
Uit de berekeningen na de proefrooiingen van zowel tafel- als fritesaardappelen blijkt dat de gemiddelde hectareopbrengst in week 33 en 34 uitkomt op 50,4 ton per hectare, ruim 5 ton hoger (8,7%) dan het gemiddelde de laatste tien jaar.
Uitschieter qua opbrengst is het ras Bintje, waarvan gemiddelde eind augustus gemiddeld bijna 51 ton per hectare in de grond zit.
Naar schatting komt de totale Franse oogst in 2011, inclusief pootaardappelen, uit op 6,375 miljoen ton tegen 5,56 miljoen ton vorig seizoen.
