On October 10th, co-owner Kees Meijer received the Golden Ice Crystal award during the Anuga trade fair in Cologne (Germany). This award, an initiative by Quick Frozen Foods International Magazine (QFFI), is granted biennially to persons who distinguish themselves in the frozen food industry.

Meijer was presented the award by Andrew Williams, QFFI’s managing director. “This prize is awarded to pioneers, to people who contribute to the development of the frozen food industry. Kees Meijer is one of these people. He has been working passionately in the potato industry his entire life. When his company joined forces with Lamb Weston, in 1994, this signified a major step forward for the European industry and beyond.”

Bas Alblas, Managing Director of Lamb Weston / Meijer sincerely congratulates Kees Meijer on his award: “It gives us a great sense of pride that one of our partners has been granted this award. It is a recognition for his achievements, and also reflects on the entire Lamb Weston / Meijer company. The vision and entrepreneurship demonstrated by Kees contributed to the growth of our company. We consider this award as a source of inspiration for our client centered future.”

By receiving the Golden Ice Crystal award Kees Meijer joins a select circle of just 18 previous winners who were honoured for their contribution to the professionalization of the frozen food industry.
