Nederlandse telers en de Nederlandse Aardappel Organisatie (NAO) steunen het Hoofdlijnenconvenant Gewasbescherming om de milieubelasting te verminderen, de waterkwaliteit te verbeteren en innovatie te stimuleren, terwijl rechtszekerheid en een duurzame aardappelproductie worden bevorderd.

Aviko's 2026 Annual Growers' Meeting reviewed the 2025 harvest, announced pool prices, and discussed market developments ahead of the 2026 crop. The meeting also highlighted collaboration across the potato value chain.

Around 70 Dutch seed potato growers watched an autonomous robot identify virus-infected plants during a field demonstration. The robot marks infected plants for easier manual removal, while automated removal is being explored for future versions.

De naamswijziging weerspiegelt de ontwikkeling van het bedrijf tot specialist in geavanceerde voedselverwerkingsoplossingen. Het bedrijf biedt turnkey-systemen voor de productie van friet, sauzen, kant-en-klaarmaaltijden, chocolade en zoetwaren.

Investindustrial, comprising the Kiremko, Idaho Steel and Reyco brands, has completed the acquisition of 100% of Tummers Group and Van der Giessen, bringing together specialist companies with complementary capabilities across the potato processing value chain. 

Aviko has started electrifying its Steenderen potato processing plant, advancing its Unlock 30 sustainability strategy. Developed with Liander, the project aims to cut emissions, reduce fossil fuel use, and support lower-carbon food production.

Solynta has registered SOLHY019 as the first diploid Hybrid True Potato Seed (HTPS) variety on the Dutch Variety List. The milestone validates hybrid potato breeding and supports wider adoption of seed-based potato production worldwide.
