Company Description
The Faculty of Agricultural Sciences of the National University of Mar del Plata is a public academic institution located in the city of Balcarce, Buenos Aires Province, Argentina. The institution offers several undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes.

This academic unit began its activities in 1960 in the city of Mar del Plata, under the auspices of the Catholic University Stella Maris of that city. At its inception, the only programme offered was Agronomic Engineering.

In 1962, amid broad support from the civic forces of Balcarce, faculty members, and INTA technicians, a mutual cooperation agreement was signed between the National Institute of Agricultural Technology (INTA) and the Catholic University of Mar del Plata, and the Faculty relocated to the INTA's Balcarce Agricultural Experimental Station (EEAB).

Subsequently, an agreement concluded in 1964 between the Catholic University of Mar del Plata, INTA, and Michigan State University, inspired by the US 'Land-Grant Colleges'—which were located in productive areas and had strong ties to agricultural research—allowed for improvements to the educational project and teaching equipment, as well as the establishment of a system for the exchange of faculty and postgraduate students.
