The Louis Bolk Institute is a Dutch research foundation focused on sustainable and organic potato agriculture, including seed quality, disease resistance breeding, and agro-ecological systems. From 2009 until 2029, the Institute co-led the Bio Impuls potato breeding initiative with Wageningen University and organic breeders to generate late-blight resistant potato types for organic farming, including Bionica, Sarpomira, and Carolus.
