The Urschel Model CCLL (Chip Cutter Large Lattice) is a heavy-duty, high-capacity industrial slicing machine specifically engineered for the continuous production of lattice-cut and waffle-style potato slices. It is widely used in commercial snack food and French fry processing lines where high throughput, consistent slice quality, and minimal product damage are critical.
The CCLL is an upgraded and larger version of the standard CCL lattice slicer. It provides greater capacity, improved cutting efficiency, smoother operation, and higher yields, making it suitable for large-scale food manufacturing facilities.
The CCLL high-capacity lattice slicer uses centrifugal force to cut potatoes and other produce in an interlaced crinkle design at approximately 90° angles. A patented stainless-steel impeller with five unique cutting stations cuts product in 32 inches (813 mm) cutting chamber with a lower slicing angle to increase slice quality for higher productivity and yield.
Extended runtime is made possible through a larger central feed opening, which has five longer feed tubes for increased capacity and improved slice quality.
Applications
The Models CCL (Chip Cutter Lattice) and CCLL (Chip Cutter Large Lattice) potato slicers produce lattice cuts of varying thickness. Both sides of the slice have crinkles/corrugations. The crinkles/corrugations run approximately 90° to each other. Uses involve lattice potato chips and thicker potato waffle fries. The CCL features 4 cutting stations. The CCLL features 5 cutting stations.
An improved version of the CCL, the CCLL Slicer features five cutting stations, in place of the four, a larger 32″ (813 mm) cutting chamber, and is powered by a 10 HP (7.5 kW) stainless steel motor.
The CCLL delivers more than twice the capacity of the CCL (dependent on feeding method). Improved, gentler cutting action promotes higher yields. †Patented stainless steel impeller has a larger central feed opening for extended runtime and now with five, instead of four, longer feed tubes for increased capacity and improved slice quality. Each feed tube features: individually replaceable bearing tubes; sealed extended life, and hybrid stainless/ceramic ball bearings with rotary seals on either side of each bearing to promote extended runtime.
Lattice slicing is a unique application. Proper feeding of the machine is necessary to ensure continuous production. Tempered high-quality round or elongated potatoes measuring between 2 – 4 inches (51 – 102 mm) are best suited.
