VIMAL PPCE is a Ukrainian family-owned company and the largest producer of potato starch and starch derivatives in Ukraine. The company operates two advanced starch factories in Chernihiv, Ukraine, with an annual production capacity of approximately 15,000 tonnes of starch. VIMAL specializes in the production of high-quality native potato starch, modified starches, and dextrins, serving the food processing, pharmaceutical, textile, paper, and industrial sectors. The company is a major exporter of potato starch to the European Union and markets in more than 25 countries worldwide.
Founded in 1992 by Viktor Lazar, VIMAL began as the first private potato starch factory in the post-Soviet region. The company name is an abbreviation of the names of founder Viktor Lazar and his brothers Anatoliy and Mykola, who were instrumental in the company's development. In 1999, VIMAL started producing modified starches. The company achieved ISO 9001:2009 and HACCP certification in 2009. A major modernization of the production line using Swedish Larsson equipment was completed in 2012. In 2014, VIMAL became the first and only Ukrainian starch exporter to the European Union. By 2016, the company had reached pharmaceutical-grade potato starch quality. A new, larger starch factory was launched in 2018. In 2022, VIMAL initiated a deep potato processing project to recover protein, fiber, and organic fertilizer, moving toward zero-waste production.

VIMAL also runs a potato procurement program for individual and commercial suppliers.
