Kambeta Farms is a Tanzanian agricultural supply company that produces, aggregates and supplies quality food crops, with Irish potatoes as its flagship crop. It operates at the growing and trading end of the potato value chain, combining its own farming operations with coordinated farmer production networks, sourcing, and agricultural input supply to serve commercial buyers of fresh table potatoes in Tanzania and regional markets.
Kambeta Farms applies an integrated, market-led model that brings finance, production and markets together. It works with a network of selected farmers in the Southern Highlands of Tanzania, offering targeted financing, quality agricultural inputs, practical field-based production support and organised market connections. The business aggregates production from its own farms and supported farmer networks, building supply around volume, quality and continuity, and is developing a staggered production approach intended to reduce seasonal peaks and shortages so that produce reaches customers more consistently.
Kambeta Farms was established from a practical understanding of Tanzania's agricultural landscape and the value created when the different parts of the supply chain work together. Starting with Irish potatoes, the company is progressively expanding its production and supply capacity as market opportunities develop, with the stated ambition of becoming a leading Tanzanian agricultural enterprise and farming company. Its operations today span more than 600 acres and over 300 farmers in the Ludewa District area, with Irish potato volumes exceeding 14,400 tonnes.
Products offered:
- Irish (table) potatoes - fresh ware potatoes produced through Kambeta Farms' own farming operations and coordinated farmer production, supplied in bulk to commercial buyers
- Agricultural inputs - fertilizers, crop protection products and farm inputs supplied to support productive potato farming
Kambeta Farms Limited is headquartered in Lugarawa, Ludewa District, Njombe, in the Southern Highlands of Tanzania, one of the country's key Irish potato growing regions. The company maintains its own farming operations as a core part of the business and is building an agricultural supply network rooted in Tanzania, with the ambition to serve regional markets and, over time, customers beyond Africa.
