Het Vlaams Centrum voor Agro- en Visserijmarketing (VLAM) mag rekenen op 2,74 miljoen euro Europese subsidies voor drie nieuwe promotiecampagnes. De vleessectoren bundelen vanaf half oktober hun krachten om de verschillende kwaliteitslabels te promoten.
VLAM gaat de volgende drie jaren ook samen met enkele buitenlandse partners campagne voeren voor verse aardappelen en verwerkte groenten. Voor beide campagnes werd een gemeenschappelijk promotieconcept uitgewerkt. Naast het koepelconcept heeft elke partner voldoende vrijheid om eigen accenten te leggen.
Vlaanderen (VLAM), Wallonië (APAQ-W), Frankrijk (CNIPT) en het Verenigd Koninkrijk (Potato Council) hebben hun krachten gebundeld rond een promotiecampagne voor verse aardappelen. De Europese Commissie geeft VLAM hiervoor een subsidie van 570.000 euro.
De doelstelling van de campagne is het volumeaandeel van verse aardappelen ten opzichte van verwerkte aardappelen, droge deegwaren en rijst te verdedigen en consumenten te overtuigen dat aardappelen passen in de moderne keuken.
Centraal in de campagne staat de website www.aardappel.be die in een nieuw kleedje wordt gestopt. Er zal ook een aardappelspotje op tv te bekijken zijn en er worden aardappelkookboekjes verspreid.
