Last December, Agrico held its annual central members' meeting. The annual figures 2018/2019 were discussed in this well-attended meeting.

The 2018/2019 financial year was an extreme year. Extreme drought and heat caused a limited potato harvest in Europe. The potato prices were therefore good and Agrico was able to sell almost all seed potatoes produced as such.

The market for consumption potatoes was also very price-bearing. As a result, a large amount of potato money (+ 20% compared to last year) could be paid to the members of Agrico and to contract growers in France, Scotland and Poland, among others.

The record turnover in seed potatoes was 248 million euros (+ 10%). The turnover in consumer potatoes rose by no less than 49% to 64 million euros due to the high prices. 25% of the turnover was realized by the subsidiaries at home and abroad.

Partly due to the results of the Agrico Quality Center opened in the 2018/2019 financial year, the complaints were halved. The quality of the delivered product remains a top priority for Agrico and its affiliated members.

Also in the 2018/2019 financial year, Agrico paid out the realized payout capacity to its members almost entirely. The size of the assets is linked to financial key figures with continuity and financial health as a starting point. The strengthening of the assets was therefore limited.

In addition to the annual figures, members were informed about the state of affairs within the organization and the implementation of the new Agrico 2030 strategy. In this new strategy, Agrico has set itself ambitious future goals based on growth opportunities in the market.

This has led to a substantial growth in positions and the number of employees within the organization to realize all plans.

After the formal meeting, European agricultural journalist Jacques van Outryve gave an extremely interesting lecture entitled: 'Will Europe feed the world or vice versa?' In this, Van Outryve responded to all the developments that are going on and yet to come in the agricultural sector.
