Auchan

Auchan Retail is a French global retailer of food and groceries, managing hypermarkets, supermarkets, convenience stores, and online shopping services. The range of products features fresh potatoes, packaged potato items, frozen French fries, potato chips, and various potato-based foods, as well as fresh produce, groceries, bakery goods, dairy items, meat, seafood, and household products. The firm also creates and markets private-label food items under its brands, collaborating with agricultural producers and food manufacturers throughout its supply chain.

Established in 1961 by Gérard Mulliez, Auchan launched its initial store in Roubaix, France. It later grew into a global retail organization, creating various store types and online shopping services to cater to customers and business associates. Auchan Retail is a division of Elo, the group previously called Auchan Holding, which additionally encompasses New Immo Holding, a property firm, and Oney, a provider of payment and financial services.

It operates as Alcampo in Spain ("al campo" is the literal Spanish translation of the French "au champ"), Auchan in Portugal, Aшан in Russia and Ukraine, and through a joint-venture as RT-Mart in China (Auchan brand is also used) and Taiwan.
