Carrefour is one of the world's largest retailers (behind Wal-Mart and Tesco).

Carrefour is operating more than 12296 stores (December 2015) in more than 30 countries in Europe, Latin America and Asia.

Concepts include hypermarkets (Carrefour), supermarkets (Carrefour Market, formerly Champion), convenience stores (City, Express, Proxi), and cash-and-carry outlets (Promocash).

By December 31, 2015, Carrefour operated 5650 stores in France, 5067 stores in the rest of Europe, 876 stores in Latin America (Argentina, Brazil), 406 stores in Asia (mainly in China) and 297 stores elsewhere in the world (Africa, Middle East and Dominica Republic).
