The company obtains potatoes from irrigated agricultural areas in South Africa and aims to link local farming output with foodservice, retail, and export clients. Alongside producing frozen fries, the company intends to develop contract farming opportunities, enhance food security, and bolster the advancement of the potato value chain in South Africa.

The Indalo Frozen Foods initiative is part of Pumla Holdings' larger mission to create a black-owned agro-processing enterprise dedicated to sustainable agricultural progress and enhanced food production. As stated in the project prospectus, the company was established to foster local industrial growth by investing in contemporary food processing facilities, generating jobs, and enhancing South Africa's frozen potato sector.

Their factory covers approximately 7,000 square metres, supported by an 1,100 square metre cold storage facility, and is designed with a production capacity of approximately 10,000 tonnes of frozen French fries annually, equivalent to around 3 tonnes of finished product per hour. The facility incorporates modern European-standard processing technology, automated packaging systems, refrigerated storage, and quality control processes to support food safety and efficient manufacturing.
