Lamb Weston / Meijer acquires majority share in Russia’s first large scale French fries factory
Lamb Weston / Meijer strengthened its position in the frozen processed potato market in Russia with the acquisition of a majority share of its existing joint venture with the Belaya Dacha Group. The joint venture owns Russia’s largest French fries factory.
Local production in the special economic zone Lipetsk is expected to cover almost 100% of the Russian import demands for frozen french fries.

Lamb Weston / Meijer inaugurated its new production line for french fries in Bergen op Zoom, the Netherlands, on 10 November 2016 in the presence of employees, suppliers, the mayor and the King’s Commissioner.
Aim of the newly created Joint Venture is to invest in a new French fry plant in Lipetsk in order to support key customers in the rapidly growing Russian (foodservice) market with french fries.
