McCain UK launches new quick-cook jacket potatoes

McCain Foods has launched a new jacket potato product that it claims will be ready in just five minutes, offering consumers the taste of a slow-baked product in rapid time.

The ‘McCain Ready Baked Jackets’ are pre-baked in sunflower oil, and only require consumers to heat them in the microwave for five minutes.

This will drastically cut down cooking times for consumers, noting that a recent study found that most people take around 40 minutes on average to cook their jacket potatoes.

McCain said the new (frozen) product does not contain artificial colours or flavours, and also have ‘green lights’ for fat, saturated fat, sugar and salt levels.
