Russia no longer includes seed potatoes in import ban
Agosto 27, 2014
In a reversal of policy, the Russian government last week modified its prohibition on several types of food imports from the United States, Canada, the EU, and other Western countries to allow for the importation of seed potatoes. Fresh potato exports continue to be prohibited.

Russia is easing the ban to allow certain items crucial to food production to be imported. In addition to seed potatoes, this includes seeds of onion and hybrid sugar maize, peas for planting, and hatchlings of salmon and trout. Processed products that will be allowed include lactose-free milk, biologically active supplements, vitamin-mineral complexes, flavor additives, protein concentrates, food fibers, and food additives.
