On October 20th the eighth annual Kiremko Nacht van Woerden took place in the city centre of Woerden. Prior to this, Kiremko and her strategic partners organized their annual open event for customers, agents and relations.

Paul Oosterlaken, director at Kiremko B.V.:

‘We are proud to say that this event was once again a huge success.’

‘This year’s theme was cooperation, and our goal was to show what we can achieve by working together.’

During the event, an example of cooperation was introduced in spectacular fashion. In a unique setting and with Japanese drum rolls a complete hydro cutting system with VPCK product pump was revealed.

‘We have been working hard on the redesign of this system’, says Paul proudly. ‘We have been working hard lately to optimize this system.’

By eliminating turbulence and reducing the number of necessary flow rates, we increase the cutting quality and process line productivity. All research and testing is done in cooperation with an American French fries processor. They have now installed twenty new Kiremko hydro cutting systems.’

The cutting system features a double knife block holder with switcher. When the active knife block is blocked, the second knife block with pipe alignment automatically takes over. This prevents downtime of the machine. It is also important for ergonomic reasons: to get a consistent cutting quality it is necessary to change the blades of the knife block on a regular basis. Kiremko’s knife block holder is designed to do this within minutes.

The new cutting system also has a special control system of its own which controls water pressure and volume, depending on the product. This is a cooperation between Kiremko and Van den Pol Elektrotechniek.

Together with Packo Pumps, Kiremko developed the VPCK product pump, part of the new hydro cutting system. ‘This product pump is designed to decrease product damage’, Paul explains. ‘Extensive research and tests have shown that the VPCK is currently the best there is when it comes to speed, effectivity and the improvement of process line productivity.’

How important the cooperation between the strategic partners is, became clear during the impressive film which was screened several times during the day.

‘In the past year Kiremko and its strategic partners have installed a complete French fries and hash brown process line in China. This film highlights every individual contribution and shows how all these contributions come together in two process lines of great innovation.’

You can watch the film on the Kiremko website: www.kiremko.com and is included below as well.

The day ended with a presentation by Sander Pluijm. He worked as the on board reporter during the Volvo Ocean Race and therefore experienced the importance of cooperation in a team first hand. In his impressive presentation he underlined the connections between professional sport and business.
