Tolsma-Grisnich Group acquires majority share in Farm Electronics Limited

Farm Electronics Limited, the UK Grantham based crop storage engineering specialist has merged with Tolsma-Grisnich, a leading Dutch specialist recognised as a pioneer and specialist in the field of efficient storage and primary processing of potatoes, onions and carrots.

The newly merged business will open up a more extensive state-of-the-art product mix from both companies for potato, onion and vegetable storage systems together with semi-industrial systems to customers in the UK and in overseas markets.

The company will continue to trade and manufacture crop storage systems as Farm Electronics Limited in the UK from its factory and engineering design facility at Woodland Drive, Alma Park Industrial Estate.

Tolsma-Grisnich, a family-run business with more than 75 years experience and winner of the best 'Storage technology' award in Holland this year (2016) has its head office in the international potato capital Emmeloord in the Netherlands with sales offices in China, India, Russia, Ukraine, USA and Germany.

Tolsma-Grisnich has an ambitious R&D department, which Farm Electronics being part of the Tolsma-Grisnich Group, will now have direct access to, develops intelligent solutions providing ongoing flow of innovation in the chain of unloading, storage, processing and packaging.

Farm Electronics, an award winning company which has received the RASE Silver Medal in recognition of product quality, design manufacture energy efficient complete storage systems for Potatoes, Onions and Vegetables, Refrigerated cooling, ventilation, electronic control systems and automated controls for agriculture and industry. Its products include Cropscan processor based controls, electrical control panels, motorised louvres, fans and ducting systems and a range of refrigerated cooling systems from 12kW to 120kW capacity. Farm Electronics personnel include specialists in electronics, electrical engineering, air movement and refrigeration.

Tolsma has an intelligent climate control computer, the Vision Control. This computer controls temperature, relative humidity and CO2 level by steering the fans, heaters, hatches and cooling automatically. The Vision Control can be connected to the internet to control the storage from a distance with a computer, tablet or smartphone. Worldwide, more than 700 Vision Control climate computers are connected to the internet.
