PepsiCo Inc. will locate a 4,000-square-foot lab at the David H. Murdock Core Laboratory Building in four to five months. Mehmood Khan, PepsiCo chief scientific officer, described the plans as a major investment but didn’t immediately specify how many jobs it would create or the dollar amount of the project.
PepsiCo’s principal businesses include Frito Lay, Quaker Oats, Tropicana juices, Gatorade and Pepsi beverages.
“We recognize the need to stay at the forefront of nutrition knowledge,” Khan said at the event. “Increasingly, future innovation will be driven by leading-edge science.”
