Basic American Foods press release on closure of Plover facility
January 12, 2009

Basic American Foods announced plans to moth-ball its Plover, WI facility. The downturn of the economy, coupled with the high costs of energy and raw material in Wisconsin requires Basic American Foods to shift production to other facilities in the western United States

The plant closure will impact 106 employees. It is anticipated that the Plover facility will continue producing until September 1, 2009. The plant has been operating in Plover for the last 35 years.

Basic American Foods reinforced its commitment to help impacted employees and is coordinating local services and offering a severance pay plan to help with the transition.

Based in Walnut Creek, California, Basic American Foods primary business is dehydrated and refrigerated products for the foodservice and consumer packaged goods industries.
