Woensdag 1 september vond de Aardappeldemodag plaats op het terrein van PPO Westmaas. Meer dan 100 bedrijven uit de aardappelsector gaven acte de présence. Organisator Paulies Melissant schatte het bezoekersaantal vanmorgen - net als 2008 - op zo'n 6.500. "De boeren konden veelal nog niet het land op en het was prachtig beursweer. De dag is probleemloos verlopen. Daar kijken we dankbaar op terug!"
De rooifabrikanten Grimme, De Wulf, AVR en Ploeger waren aanwezig met diverse machines en rooien doorlopend op de dag. Door het mooie weer waren de bezoekers de hele dag mooi over de velden en hallen verdeeld. "Als je het zou moeten plannen, zou het niet lukken. Zo'n prachtige dag was het", aldus Melissant. Thema van deze editie was 'groei door samenwerking'.
