Bovenmaats pootgoed brengt momenteel 18 tot ruim 20 cent per kilo op.
Dat is veel meer dan in andere jaren tijdens de aardappeloogst. Volgens commercieel directeur Jan van Hoogen van coöperatie Agrico is de vraag naar consumptieaardappelen voor de export al op gang gekomen. "Er zijn door de moeilijke weersomstandigheden niet genoeg exportaardappelen beschikbaar. Dat verklaart de relatief hoge prijs die nu wordt betaald voor bovenmaats pootgoed."
Agrico geeft leden tot 1 oktober de mogelijkheid om bovenmaats pootgoed via de coöperatie tegen dagprijs te verkopen, zegt Van Hoogen. "De prijs varieert van 18 cent naar ruim 20 cent per kilo, afhankelijk van de hoeveelheid en de kwaliteit. Er zijn telers die bij het inschuren het bovenmaatse pootgoed direct uitsorteren."
Volgens Van Hoogen is er al veel vraag naar exportaardappelen. "Landen in West-Afrika vragen al aardappelen, maar dat is gebruikelijk in deze tijd van het jaar. Ongebruikelijk is dat er zo weinig aardappelen beschikbaar zijn."
