Per 1 maart aanstaande is Geert Staring (53) te Emmeloord benoemd tot algemeen directeur van Breeders Trust NV in Brussel. Breeders Trust is opgericht door een aantal toonaangevende Noord Europese handelshuizen in pootaardappelen.
Kopiëren van beschermde producten is ook in de aardappelketen een groot probleem. Breeders Trust draagt er zorg voor dat de ongeoorloofde handel in beschermde aardappelrassen wordt teruggedrongen en de kwekersrechten van nieuwe rassen worden gerespecteerd.
