Canada: Prince Edward Island can export more spuds, says potato supplier

Prince Edward Island needs to be more competitive in the global market for Island potatoes. Don Northcott of Real Potatoes Ltd., a seed potato supplier and exporter based in Cornwall, said the market for Island seed and table-stock potatoes is on the rise.
“One of the big problems we have is we haven’t had a very good reputation in maintaining virus disease levels here on P.E.I.” There’s also a lack of new varieties of spuds.
