PepsiCo launches new potato chip flavors in Western Canada

March 20, 2012
The Lay's brand yesterday announced the launch of two new potato chip flavours that have been specially made for Western Canadians - Wavy Lay's Smoky BBQ and Wavy Lay's Old Fashioned Ketchup.

Exclusive to the Western market, these two one-of-a-kind flavours are only available in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.

"At PepsiCo Foods Canada, we understand and support our Western market whether through our partnerships with professional sports teams, such as the Vancouver Canucks and Winnipeg Jets, or through new and unique product flavour choices,"says Jason McDonell, vice-president of marketing, PepsiCo Foods Canada. "Formulated with the Western taste bud in mind, we are thrilled to be expanding our portfolio of Lay's Wavy flavours out West."

Western Canadians can now enjoy the following two new exciting flavour profiles, only available in a wavy-style potato chip:
  • Wavy Lay's Smoky BBQ potato chips - a spicier, smokier, more savoury taste with added heat for those Westerners looking for a stronger bite
  • Wavy Lay's Old Fashioned Ketchup potato chips - a sweeter, more tomato taste for the Western consumer who enjoys an old fashioned favourite
The Lay's brand has always taken great pride in providing Canadians with delicious potato chips with local roots, all homegrown by Canadian Lay's potato farmers, and is extremely excited to be adding these two new flavours that are specially made for Western Canadians to the Wavy Lay's line-up.

These new Lay's Western flavours, are available at all major retailers across British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
