The Potato Company (TPC) is expanding. Owner and founder of the company Gaby Stet and the Municipality Noordoostpolder have signed an agreement for the sale of a 4633 m2 sized lot in the new business park "De Munt" in Emmeloord.

Gaby Stet, Founder and CEO of The Potato Company:

"TPC was founded back in 2004 and in the meantime we have outgrown our current facilities."

"TPC Research needs additional lab space as well as additional space for any sorting related to the development of new varieties."

"As a result of the increased sales of our proprietary potato varieties - mainly due to their strong PCN resistencies - we also need additional office space."

"In the next five years we will focus on an increase in turnover of the TPC potato varieties, anywhere in the world. On our new location, we will have the opportunity to expand in another ten years, should that be required. So we our new location is really future-proof."

"To move to a location other than Emmeloord has never been an option, we want to stay in World Potato City, a Mecca for potato business."

Wiemer Haagstra, Alderman of the Municipality Noordoostpolder:

"As a municipality we are very pleased with the sale of the lot. TPC will be building a top notch facility at a prime location right at the entrance of the Business Park."

"The Potato Company is a potato trading company with a lot of growth potential and fits perfectly in the agro-food chain of the Noordoostpolder."

"Thanks to the presence of this kind of companies, Emmeloord can rightfully present itself as World Potato City."
