Brenntag, the global market leader in chemicals and ingredients distribution, announced a partnership with Coöperatie Koninklijke Avebe U.A. ("Royal Avebe"). Royal Avebe is an international farmer cooperative producing potato starch and potato protein. Product applications include food, animal nutrition and the construction industry.

The partnership expands the portfolio of supply partners of Brenntag Specialties, offering a broad portfolio of innovative and sustainable products and services to customers around the world.

As a first step, Brenntag Specialties has signed an agreement to take over a Royal Avebe site in Izmir, Turkey. Brenntag will take over Avebe Nişasta Sanayii ve Ticaret Limited Şirketi, an internal distributor for Royal Avebe, operating in strategic locations in Turkey, including an office, four warehouses and blending facilities in Izmir on the Mediterranean coast.

Brenntag Specialties now also offers Royal Avebe potato starch and protein products in Turkey. This partnership lays the foundation for a further collaboration between both companies.

Michael Friede, COO of Brenntag Specialties:

"Part of executing our ‘Strategy to Win’ is the strategic expansion and broadening of our portfolio of innovative and sustainable products, especially in the Life Sciences, through collaboration with world class suppliers like Royal Avebe."

"This partnership fits Brenntag’s acquisition strategy as a leading consolidator in the industry and our goal of further strengthening Brenntag’s position in key markets."

"I want to welcome our new colleagues and look forward to growing our partnership with Avebe in the coming months, serving regional customers with these products and services."
David Fousert, Chief Executive Officer of Royal Avebe:

"Within our strategy ‘Accelerate and Strengthen’ we have called out our intention to strengthen our go-to-market in certain regions with selective partners. We are very pleased with the partnership with Brenntag because they will be good for the Avebe-team and allow us to serve our local customers better."
