TOMRA Food has unveiled the Dry Peel Separator-16 (DPS-16), the newest addition to its peeling portfolio. Capable of handling up to 70 tons of potatoes per hour, the unit is engineered for high-capacity performance. For a full breakdown of the machine’s capabilities, a detailed list of DPS-16 specifications and benefits is available.

Proven Peeling Technology Built for Today’s Challenges

The TOMRA DPS is a long-trusted steam peeling solution that delivers high yield and reliable peel removal. Its operational flexibility allows processors to handle various potato sizes and a wide range of vegetables, including carrots, with consistent results.

The DPS-16 includes several features designed to make peeling simpler, cleaner, and more efficient. Its perforated drum gently separates peel without using water, helping processors cut water consumption while maintaining a fully dry process. The brushless design reduces wear and maintenance, while wide access doors make cleaning straightforward. The DPS-16 demonstrates these features in operation, showing its efficiency and ease of use.

Market-Leading Capacity of 70 Tons Per Hour in a Trusted Solution

With more than 45 years of experience in steam peeling and over 600 peeling lines installed across 30 countries, TOMRA continues to support processors with dependable and user-friendly technology. The DPS-16 is designed to deliver high throughput while remaining simple to clean and maintain.

It integrates smoothly into existing steam peeling lines with minimal downtime, providing a significant boost in capacity. For a typical facility, this can mean processing up to 300,000 potatoes per hour. TOMRA’s broad range of configurations ensures that each customer can select a setup that fits their specific operation, strengthening TOMRA’s offering for those looking to scale efficiently while maintaining consistency.

Andy Schwartz, Product Marketing Manager at TOMRA Food:

"We take pride in the flexibility the DPS offers our customers. The ability to efficiently process various vegetables of all sizes minimizes downtime, maximizes efficiency, and opens up new opportunities for our customers across the food industry."

The DPS also supports a low total cost of ownership. Its brushless design reduces maintenance needs, and stainless-steel surfaces make cleaning fast and hygienic.

Paul Menz, Peeling Line Product Manager at TOMRA Food:

"We are committed to delivering the solutions our customers need to drive their success. With the DPS-16, they can rely on the trusted features of the TOMRA DPS—now with the high-capacity performance required to maximize throughput with no compromise on yield."
