Global Processing and Packaging Industry Set to Meet at interpack 2026 in Dusseldorf

Interpack is set to open its doors in Düsseldorf in eight weeks. From 7 to 13 May 2026, the global processing and packaging industry will gather to discuss artificial intelligence, automation, innovative materials and workforce skills. Market leaders and newcomers from across the value chain are preparing to present their latest developments.
Preparations for interpack 2026 are in full swing. Around 2,800 exhibitors from around the world will present their technologies and solutions in Düsseldorf, providing new impulses for the future of a globally connected processing and packaging industry.
Thomas Dohse, Director of interpack:
"Interpack 2026 is more important than ever. Especially in a challenging market environment, the industry needs a place for dialogue and orientation. Our task now is to view and compare concrete solutions and make well-founded investment decisions."
Industry challenges and innovation themes
The industry currently faces complex global conditions. Population growth, urbanisation and changing consumer behaviour are increasing the demand for efficient processing and packaging solutions. At the same time, companies must deal with raw material shortages, regulatory pressure, supply chain risks and a shortage of skilled labour.
To address these developments, interpack 2026 will highlight three main themes: Smart Manufacturing, Innovative Materials and Future Skills. Smart Manufacturing focuses on data-driven and resource-efficient production technologies such as artificial intelligence and robotics. Innovative Materials will explore new packaging materials and design-for-recycling concepts, while Future Skills examines how workforce requirements are evolving in increasingly digitalised and automated production environments.
