In 2011 Dorothy Henke made her first ever batch of Dot’s Homestyle Pretzels, by hand, in her own home kitchen, with spices culled from a run to Sam’s Club. And by the time 2019 drew its curtains closed, these Dot’s pretzels had become sixth on the list of the country’s highest-selling pretzels, according to Nielsen market data.
Dot's Homestyle Pretzels began as a family snack in a home kitchen in Velva, North Dakota. The brand eventually grew into a national snack company, and in 2021, it was acquired by The Hershey Company. Dot's Homestyle Pretzels is one of Hershey's snack brands, along with SkinnyPop and Pirate's Booty.
