The Sormac Basket centrifuge MC is designed to remove excess water from leafy vegetables and other cut and uncut products. The machine has a maximum capacity of 1,000 kg/h and can process batches of up to 15 kg.
Efficient Vegetable Drying
The Basket centrifuge MC is designed for drying applications and provides adjustable control over the centrifuging process. A touchscreen allows operators to set spin time and spin speed, as well as use slow start and stop, reverse functions and pre-programmed recipes.
The machine offers up to 100 programmable recipes, allowing different drying settings to be stored for processing requirements.
Basket Lock and Magnetic Lid Lock
The patented Basket Lock® system firmly secures the basket during operation, supporting stable, high-speed performance and consistent drying results.
The magnetic lid lock keeps the lid securely closed during spinning and automatically releases it at the end of the cycle. Sormac offers a 5-year warranty on the magnetic lid locking system.
Low Insertion Height
The Basket centrifuge MC has a low insertion height of 560 mm. This provides an ergonomic working height and makes changing baskets easier.
High Batch Capacity
The machine is equipped with heavy-duty bearings as standard and can process baskets containing up to 15 kg of product per cycle. Sormac states that this is 50% more capacity than many comparable centrifuges.
The machine can process up to 1,000 kg of product per hour.
Reverse Function
During centrifuging, leafy vegetables can be pressed against the basket wall, causing leaves to compress and wash water to remain trapped between them. The reverse function changes the basket's direction during the cycle, causing the product to move back toward the centre of the basket and releasing trapped wash water.
Fine-Mesh Basket for Finely Cut Vegetables
For finely cut vegetables, Sormac offers fine-mesh insert baskets with a perforation of 1 × 1.3 mm. These baskets are designed to prevent finely cut products such as julienne carrots, diced onions and finely chopped chives from escaping while allowing wash water to drain.
Adjustable Drying Process
The spin speed and centrifuging time can be adjusted according to the product. Delicate and finer products can be centrifuged at lower speeds, while firmer products can be processed at higher rotation speeds and shorter cycles.
