Bikaji Foods International has announced that its founder, Chairman and Whole-Time Director Shiv Ratan Agarwal passed away on April 23, 2026, according to a regulatory filing submitted to stock exchanges.
The company said Agarwal played a central role in building Bikaji into a recognised brand in the traditional snacks and sweets segment, with operations spanning domestic and international markets. The cause of death was not disclosed.
Founder role in building Bikaji brand
Shiv Ratan Agarwal was closely associated with the establishment and expansion of Bikaji Foods, which operates in the ethnic snacks and sweets category. The company has developed a wide portfolio including bhujia, namkeen, packaged sweets and ready-to-eat products.
Over the years, Bikaji expanded its distribution network across India and into international markets, strengthening its position among established players in the organised snacks sector.
Company outlines continuity and governance changes
Following his passing, the company stated that Agarwal will cease to be part of the promoter and promoter group in line with regulatory requirements.
Bikaji Foods said its leadership and employees expressed condolences and reaffirmed their commitment to continue operating in line with the founder’s vision. The company added that it remains focused on ensuring business stability and long-term value creation during the transition period.
