Potato Association of America concludes 110th annual meeting with new leadership and research focus
The Potato Association of America (PAA) concluded its 110th annual meeting in New Orleans, Louisiana, bringing together researchers, industry professionals, educators and students to share the latest advances in potato science and production. The five-day event featured scientific presentations, networking opportunities and discussions on challenges and innovations across the potato value chain.
New leadership installed
Jacob "Jake" Blauer assumed the role of PAA President for the 2026–2027 term. Munevver Dogramaci was elected President-Elect, while Jim Busse and Jeff Endelman joined the Board of Directors following the association's annual elections.

The annual meeting programme included concurrent scientific sessions covering potato breeding, genetics, plant protection, physiology, production management and utilisation. A dedicated symposium focused on innovative approaches to nematode control, alongside poster presentations, committee meetings and networking events.
Recognition of industry contributions
During the Award Ceremony and Luncheon, the association inducted Robert Dwelle (posthumously), Charles Higgins, Mark Pavek and Asunta "Susie" Thompson as Honorary Life Members, the PAA's highest recognition for outstanding contributions to the potato industry and the association.
