Sormac, established in the Netherlands, manufactures machinery and full processing lines for the vegetable and fresh-cut food industries, has appointed Tys van Elk as its new Managing Director, succeeding owner and long-time Managing Director Bert Haffmans. Van Elk joined Sormac on October 1, 2026 and will formally take over on December 31, 2026. The coming months will be focused on a smooth transition and getting to know Sormac’s employees, customers, partners and business.
Bert Haffmans has led Sormac for more than 23 years, during which the company developed into a leading international manufacturer of vegetable processing equipment with steady, sustainable growth. After stepping down, he will remain involved with Sormac as an advisor and shareholder.
