Minister for Fertiliser and Chemicals Ram Vilas Paswan Wednesday said the central government has plans to set up a potato chips unit in Himachal Pradesh.
“The central government is contemplating to set up a chips production factory in Kangra district as it is famous for the production of high-quality potatoes,” he said while inaugurating a one-day Kisan Mela at Palampur, 150 km from here.
Many of the country’s fertiliser producers participated in the Kisan Mela.
Paswan added that unit would be set up only if the state government provided adequate infrastructure.
