De Franse aardappelsector lijkt een evenwicht te hebben gevonden op economisch en ecologisch niveau.
Dit werd duidelijk gemaakt tijdens het even Qualipom'Nord dat in juni plaatsvond in de regio Nord-Pas de Calais. Op dit evenement waren bijna 2000 bezoekers en 78 exposanten.
Hier werden alle nieuwtjes en technieken op het gebied van technologie en handel verteld.
Volgens een woordvoerder van het Ministerie van Landbouw is het eten van aardappelen een kwestie van cultuur.
"Door middel van het evenement Qualipom kunnen we laten zien dat er nieuwe agrarische technologieën zijn en dat we ook op het gebied van milieubescherming en duurzaamheid ver zijn ontwikkeld."
"We zijn op dit moment bezig met een plan waardoor het pesticidegebruik in 2018 met de helft zal dalen. Daarnaast zijn we in staat om de productie te verhogen en voor globale reuzen te produceren."
