Access to water still high on agenda for British potato growers

Water abstraction reform is high on the list of challenges the NFU’s Potato Forum will tackle in the next year. Growers said the drought at the beginning of the year highlighted the ‘conflict of interest’ between farmers, consumers and the water companies.
John Addams-Williams, who grows seed potatoes for UK supermarkets in East Anglia, said safeguarding abstraction licences was a big priority.
