Hacia finales de los años 80, la localidad El Hoyo, ubicada al noroeste de la provincia del Chubut, abastecía buena parte de la demanda patagónica de papa. Pero con la llegada de nuevas corrientes migratorias, la orientación varió mayoritariamente hacia la fruta fina. Hoy se quiere revertir esa situación.
