Koorti Kartul OÜ grows and supplies potatoes and vegetables in Estonia, including potatoes for food and seed, as well as cleaned and peeled potatoes. The firm farms its own potatoes, seed potatoes, and carrots. Its potato range includes numerous varieties produced by German breeder Norika, including Solist, Paroli, Jola, Soraya, Gala, Birgit, Baltic Rose, and Nixe, which are all available as seed potatoes. Koorti Kartul also sells potatoes for cooking, frying, baking, and other food uses, with certain kinds used for washing and small-format retail packing.
Koorti Kartul was started in spring 2005 as a cooperative venture between potato producers Märt Laansalu and Janek Lass. By fall 2005, the firm has been recognised by the Estonian Veterinary and Food Board for basic food processing. Since 2009, Koorti Kartul has represented and produced potato cultivars from German breeder Norika. The company's operations are based in Lätkalu, Viljandi County, Estonia, and include potato cultivation, seed potato production, primary processing, and product sales.
