Strong Roots

Founded in 2015 by entrepreneur Samuel Dennigan, Strong Roots first launched in major retailers in Ireland, before expanding internationally into over 4,000 supermarkets.

Prior to founding Strong Roots, Samuel worked in his family's fresh produce business, Sam Dennigan & CO [founded in 1975], in North Dublin for over a decade.

There, he learned the ins-and-outs of the produce supply chain, and also supervised the relationships between suppliers, retailers, and consumers. Discovering a lack of innovation and modernization in the stagnant frozen produce food sector, Samuel used his life savings to launch Strong Roots.

Since its inception five years ago, the international brand has expanded to include tens of frozen vegetable products, developed based on relationships with farmers that utilize sustainable farming practices, and in 2019, it was the fastest-growing food brand in the U.K.

In 2019, Strong Roots won the coveted NEXTY Award at Natural Products Expo West, after receiving The Grocer's Great Taste Award and New Product Award multiple times over the years.

Samuel also received the Start-Up Award in Ireland's Best Young Entrepreneur (IBYE) competition, and was a finalist for Ireland's Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award for Food and Drink.
