In België wordt steeds vaker gebruikt frituurvet gestolen. Van het vuile vet wordt biodiesel gemaakt. Verwerkingsbedrijven betalen 20 tot 35 cent per kilo.
Meerdere recyclingsbedrijven trokken inmiddels aan de bel, meldden Vlaamse media. Het frituurvet wordt gestolen bij een snackbar of in containerparken.
Wekelijks zijn er telefoontjes van klanten dat meerdere vaten frituurvet zijn gestolen, aldus het bedrijf Eurofat.
Volgens het concurrerende Saf Recyclage zijn de daders mogelijk zelf in de verwerkingssector actief.
