Pedro Selegato Joins HZPC Americas as Product Manager

HZPC Americas Corp is excited to announce the addition of another product manager to its Canada team. Pedro Selegato brings rich experience spanning from seed production research and large scale farming management to ag-tech and data analytics.

After graduating in Agronomic Engineering, Pedro Selegato started his career working with hybrid corn seed production research, a position that uses applied science to connect breeding programs with the commercial needs of ag production.

After that, Selagato had the chance to manage some of the most intensive large scale agricultural operations in the world. He did that without letting go of his curiosity and investigative nature, integrating seed production, agronomic field trials, machinery performance evaluations and other innovative ventures into the large-scale operation he was managing.

That interest in innovation and technology eventually led him to the ag-tech startup world, where he had the chance to interact with some of the largest food and agriculture companies out there, in various different supply chains.

As he was collaborating with potato processors and breeders, something caught his attention in the potato industry, and he felt it was time to focus on the agronomy side of things once again. The opportunity to be part of such a thrilling industry and work with the industry leader, HZPC, was very attractive.

As a Product Manager in HZPC Americas, Pedro Selegato, who lives with his family in Alberta Canada, will be able to leverage his research, farming and tech expertise to help North American potato farmers to make the most of the amazing germplasm that HZPC has been developing for over 125 years.

Selegato will work closely with growers, processors and packers in North America, to understand their needs and perform field trials in their conditions. This will provide the right insights to guide HZPC breeding programs and enable the most efficient possible positioning of HZPC varieties in the different growing conditions throughout North America.
