August 15, 2007
Golden Enterprises, maker of Golden Flake snacks, said Tuesday it has come up with the industry's first "energy chip"for sports enthusiasts and energy-drink imbibers.
NRG Phoenix Fury Potato Chips are shipping now to convenience stores. They are described by the company as "hot,"and are made with caffeine and B-vitamins familiar to drinkers of energy and sports-related beverages. They also include taurine, a compound some people tout as an antidote to muscle fatigue.
[Not recommended for kids, pregnant women and those sensitive to caffeine.]
