China International Potato Summit Forum Held in Beijing to Enhance Exchange and Cooperation

The China International Potato Summit Forum was jointly held by MOA Agricultural Trade Promotion Centre and the Government of Yanqing County, Beijing. Vice Agricultural Minister Niu Dun attended the forum and delivered remarks, together with Director-General of Agricultural Commission of Beijing and FAO Representative to China.

Vice Minister Niu introduced the development of China’s potato production, trade and consumption, pointing out that China’s potato industry had been growing rapidly, and would focus on regional concentration, seed production, technology and industrial promotion, to expand international exchange and cooperation, establish and improve quality control system, promote elite varieties, implement standardized planting, conduct industrial operation, and intensify processing.


China International Potato Summit Forum

This forum is the largest one of its type in China, attended by over 300 domestic and international experts and business representatives. In total, 17 scholars from various countries shared their observation on the development of potato industry.
