Flour Mills of Fiji has processed into potato chips the first batch of potatoes that were harvested from farms in Nadarivatu.
Permanent Secretary for Agriculture, Mason Smith says it is a milestone for the Nadarivatu farmers as the potatoes from their farms have been value added.
Smith congratulated the farmers for their hard work and dedication which has paid off.
He says the potatoes are of great quality and are bigger in size than most of the potatoes that are imported.
Smith also commended the agricultural officials who have been committed in their duties in visiting the potato farms as well as ensuring that proper management practices are used on the various potato farms.
