INTERPOM | PRIMEURS, the international trade fair for the potato, fruit and vegetable sector, will be held in Kortrijk Xpo, Belgium, on 28, 29 and 30 November 2010.
The event is famous as the most complete information and contact platform for the whole potato sector, from growers right through to processors. There are still 3 months to go before the event opens but registrations have already smashed the last record of 200 exhibitors on 26 500m2 in 5 exhibition halls. This makes INTERPOM | PRIMEURS 2010 the top European event of the year, with a complete, top quality range of exhibitors and exhibits covering all aspects of the business for growers, contractors, processors, packers, buyers and traders of potatoes, fruit and vegetables.
Over 200 exhibitors
The number of exhibitors at INTERPOM | PRIMEURS has grown steadily over the years, and this year is no exception, with 8% more exhibitors and a 15% larger exhibition area compared with 2008. To date, exhibitors from 9 different countries have registered to take part and virtually all stands available have been booked. The quality and clear focus of the event, the unfailing attendance of a large number of professionals from the sector, and the strong growth of the Belgian potato processing industry are no doubt significant factors in the success of our event.
This year, the Belgian potato processing industry is set to pass the magic peak of 3 million tonnes of potatoes processed into pre-fried chips, mashed potato products, crisps, flakes and granules. This means that Belgium will join the Netherlands and Germany in the select group of countries that process over 3 million tonnes of potatoes annually. Of these three, Belgium also shows the strongest growth, certainly in the worldwide export of potato products.
The organizers of INTERPOM | PRIMEURS are busy with the final details and aim once again to give an efficient and hospitable welcome to over 14 000 visitors (at the last event in 2008 we had 13 858 visitors from 22 different countries) in the superb, newly renovated exhibition complex at Kortrijk Xpo.
INTERPOM I PRIMEURS is an initiative of Belgapom, the official professional association for the Belgian potato trade. The practical organization of the event is the responsibility of Kortrijk Xpo.
