Potato processors see lots of energy disappear through the chimney of their fryer, dryer or steam peeler. This is a pity, since this is energy that can be recovered and can be re-used in the process.

For decades Kiremko has supplied heat recovery systems for fryers, the so called Brüdencondensors. This system condenses steam coming from the fryers.

During this condensation a large amount of the oil particles, which are carried in the frying steam, are collected. These oil particles are responsible for the smell coming from the fryer exhaust, they are collected and come together with the condensate in a grease trap.

New in the Kiremko program are the condensers which can condensate all the steam which is released at the blow off of the steam peeler. Kiremko developed a system that steam condenses without any increase of the resistance in the blow off system. The blow off steam is not affected by heat exchangers, which can plug up or create back pressure making a steam peeler blow off slowly, which can have a negative effect on your steam peeling result. The condensation system of Kiremko has a free passage and in principle is a totally open system.

The blow off steam is passed into a cyclonic expansion vessel, where the heavy particles, water, skin and dirt are separated from the steam. The steam is passed to a condenser. In the condenser the steam will be mixed with water sprays, the steam condenses and heats the water. The heated water is constantly discharged to a heat exchanger where it cools down before returning to the condenser. The energy available in the heat exchanger can be used in other processes as previously mentioned.
