De verwerking van aardappelen tot aardappelproducten blijft ondanks de hoge inkoopprijs op volle kracht doorlopen.
Volgens cijfer van het produktschap akkerbouw werd er in december jl. 289.300 ton aardappelen verwerkt, dat is ruim 18.000 ton meer dan in december 2009.
Veel aardappelen (98.300 ton = 34%) in december 2010 waren afkomstig van invoer. In dezelfde periode een jaar eerder was bijna 26% van de verwerkte aardappelen (70.000 ton) afkomstig van invoer.
In het laatste kwartaal van 2010 werd er in totaal maar liefst 1.175,200 ton verwerkt, bijna 5% meer dan in het laatste kwartaal van 2009 toen er totaal 1.120,400 ton werd verwerkt.
