Solanic (AVEBE) introduces PRO GO potato protein for sport nutrition concepts
May 16, 2011
Solanic, a 100% subsidiary of Dutch AVEBE, has developed a pure protein extract from potatoes, PRO GO. This potato protein contains a very high amount of the so-called branched chain amino acids. This makes PRO GO perfect for new sports nutrition concepts.

Last week Solanic introduced PRO GO at Vitafoods Europe in Geneva, Switzerland.

“Our proteins may offer new application solutions for the sports nutrition industry.”, says Michiel Puttman, CEO of Solanic.

”We have shown our processing is sustainable: the land footprint is 5-10 times less than that of dairy protein or meat.  The energy and water footprint of PRO GO  is less than that of other proteins. PRO GO adds sustainability to our daily protein need.” comments Saskia Oort, Market Manager Nutrition of Solanic.

Saskia adds: ” We’re looking towards the general exercising consumer as a target group and intend to convey our clinicals with these people.  PRO GO  is looking for less but better consumer intake of proteins for exercising.” This is a vegetarian protein with an unique amino acid profile. It can be used in the global supplement and sports nutrition market. PRO GO is available for a wide range of applications from powders to bars, beverages and gels.
