International Potato Technology Expo 2012 in Charlottetown starts friday
February 22, 2012
The International Potato Technology Expo returns to the Charlottetown Civic Centre February 24-25, 2012. This popular event has been running in Charlottetown every two years since 1992. Over the years, this has become a must-attend industry event for potato farmers from across the Island, while attracting visitors from as far away as Manitoba and the United States.

“We are excited to present a jam-packed educational conference program to compliment the trade show this year. The quality and relevancy of this year’s conference sessions is second to none and we are pleased with the direction that the International Potato Technology Expo is taking,” says Show Manager, Rob Etmanski. Sessions will take place at the Red Shores Racetrack &Casino.

The educational component includes topics such as: Important aspects of potato seed including size, vigour and handling as it relates to potato crop performance, Maximize your on-farm management with GIS mapping and Strategies for Highly Successful Farm Management. For complete details on these seminars and to learn more about the presenters.

Producers of the International Potato Technology Expo (IPTE) are pleased to welcome aboard two recognizable names in the industry as major sponsors for this high caliber event. Farm Credit Canada has been named as the Major Sponsor and Syngenta Canada will be presenting the Conference Breakfast.

Syngenta Canada is well known for its high quality products and is a name producers have come to trust. Farm Credit Canada is Canada’s largest provider of business and financial services to farms and agribusiness. These two firms are a perfect fit with this ever-growing event and we thank them for their support.

In addition, we would like to thank the PEI Department of Agriculture for their ongoing support of the event, United Phosphorus, the 2012 attendee bag sponsor and the Port of Halifax, which is graciously sponsoring the VIP Reception.

This year’s show boasts over 100 booths filling the entire Charlottetown Civic Centre and will encompass everything from seed to soil to growing to harvesting. You will see the latest from the manufacturers of harvesters, sprayers, pilers, cultivators, storage and climatization technology, tractors, bagging machinery, seed cutters, the very latest in plant genetics, research and the list goes on….
